The Blue Ridge Heritage Memorial

The monument honors Greene County families from the Blue Ridge Mountains who were displaced when the Shenandoah National Park was established in the 1930's. The stone chimneys that remain standing throughout the park are reminders of the families who once lived in the park. This replica chimney displays names of the displaced families from Greene County and educates visitors about their lives and cultures.
